Junior is sure of a few things: he loves to draw, he loves basketball, and he's expected to live and die on the Reservation in Wellpinit, WA. When he transfers to the wealthy, mostly white Reardan high school, he expects nothing less than disaster. Alexie's charming semi-autobiographical tale is by turns hilarious and heartbreaking and brimming with the sharp, evocative language he is known for in his adult novels.
