Information for Performers
The BROOKLINE LIBRARY MUSIC ASSOCIATION (BLMA), founded in 1951, hosts six free concerts each season. This provides an opportunity for talented young artists to perform and for members of our community to hear them.
These concerts are held in Hunneman Hall on the top floor of the Main Library at 361 Washington Street in Brookline.
If you are a performer or a member of a musical group that would like to be considered for one of the six slots, there are two ways you may apply:
Application Method 1:
- Send us a CD or DVD.
- Send us your contact information (must include an e-mail address), curriculum vitae, reviews, etc.
Our address is:
BLMA
361 Washington St.
Brookline, MA 02445
Please be advised that because of the large number of audition packages we receive, we are unable to return your materials.
Application Method 2:
- Send an e-mail to (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) with a link to an MP3 file, web site performance file, youtube performance or other digital/video recording you would like us to consider. Please limit your audition performances to no more than three. BE SPECIFIC about the performance(s) or recording(s) you would like us to consider. We will not consider your application if you simply make a general reference to a web site. However, references or links to biographies, curriculum vitae, performance accomplishments and reviews on your web site are appropriate.
- Include all contact information in the message.
REGARDLESS OF YOUR METHOD OF SUBMISSION: Send us all of the above by February 28 (February 29 in a leap year) to be considered for the upcoming season, which runs from October to April. (The 2010-2011 season is finalized.) We will inform you by the end of March if you or your group has been selected. E.g., to perform between October 2011 and April 2012, we need your application by February 28, 2011.
If you have any questions, please call Cindy Battis at 730-2344 or send an e-mail to (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)
