We’ve started up our storytimes again!  If you’re interested in any of our offerings take a look here.  Most of our “registration required” programs are full at this time, but we have plenty of drop-in programs each week at each branch!  If you have any questions give your branch a call to find out more.

Next week is our fourth Bestsellers meeting of the year!  If you’re interested in reading and discussing interesting books, and happen to be between the ages of 10 and 13 this book group’s for you!  Our fourth discussion title is Preus’ Heart of a Samurai.  Join us next Thursday, January 19th at 3:30pm in the Main Children’s Room for snacks and conversation.  Books are available at the Main Children’s Desk now.  Call, 617-730-2340, with any questions.

Below are some interesting articles about recent happenings in Children’s Literature; including news about this year’s National Book Award Winner and the new National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature.

• Inside Out and Back Again by Thanhha Lai was recently named a National Book Award winner.  Read about the author’s personal journey here.
