Science Magic with the Museum of Science

Ever wonder how magic tricks really work? This program investigates the science behind the “magic” of several classic magic tricks. You might learn how to snatch a tablecloth without disturbing the items on top, make a balloon fireproof, and use electromagnetism to defy gravity. For the grand finale, our educator demonstrates how science can make it safe to lie down on a real bed of nails. Approx. 45 minutes.

Kids will laugh as Philip performs whimsical original and folkloric stories with humor, flair and soundscapes to spark the imagination. Each tale has call-and-response or song and movement built-in to provide plenty of opportunities for audiences to join in and become part of the story.

Celebrate Earth Day with Brookline's very own Ranger Brandon! Listen to storytime, do a craft and then go on a nature exploration to learn all about the plants and animals surrounding the Brookline Public Library. 3:00-4:00 PM. Ages 3 and up.

*Because we will be going outside, caretakers must be in attendance throughout the entire program.*
