Based on the true story of two men competing for a spot on the British Olympic track team in 1924. Harold Abrahams was a Jewish student at Cambridge University who faced prejudice in both his academic and athletic endeavors. Eric Liddell was a devout Christian missionary from Scotland who struggled to find a balance between religion and running. For both men, a victory in running would mean a chance to prove themselves, and their faith, to society.

Based on the autobiography of Irishman Christy Brown, this film tells the remarkable, true story of a man afflicted with crippling cerebral palsy, who eventually learned to write with his left foot- the one part of his body he could control. After spending much of his childhood as a silent, overlooked witness to the world around him, he ultimately learned to communicate, first with his family, and then with the world at large.
