New Voices in Y.A. and Children’s Literature

Are you a reader and lover of Y.A. or children’s literature? An aspiring author? A literary agent?

We’re back! Join us February 16th, March 29th, and April 19th to hear from emerging authors. They will read from current projects, ranging from historical to contemporary, from realism to fantasy. Afterward, they will discuss their writing processes, their inspirations, their modes of procrastination… and then we shall all eat cookies!

In the Teen Room in the Main Branch; reception in the Rabbit Hole.

Valentine’s Day Cupcake Decorating Party!

Teens in grades 7 to 12 are invited to celebrate by decorating cupcakes for their Valentines. Decorate a cupcake to let someone know how you feel, show off your favorite story, or disguise your cupcake as something else entirely.

Teen Adventure Challenge: Library Kung fu RETURNS!

Join us for a one hour workshop to introduce library patrons, ages 10 to 18, to the fun, excitement, and challenge of Chinese martial arts practice. Halloween Spooky TV Spectacular!

Join your fellow fans of television’s creepiest shows!  Monday evening we’ll be screening three select episodes from SUPERNATURAL and THE VAMPIRE DIARIES.

Each stand alone episode has been chosen for thrills (and a few laughs) to celebrate.  Come in costume, enjoy snacks, relive your favorite moments or discover a brand new show to add to your must-watch pile of DVDs.

Join us for a reading and panel discussion with upcoming authors writing for children and young adults. Teen Adventure Challenge: Falconry!
