What the heck do I read now?!

We’ve all been there… you just finished reading a wonderful book and are looking for something similar. Maybe you want to explore a new genre of fiction like murder mysteries or supernatural horror. Perhaps you want to find a work that would spark the interest of your picky tween. You could simply want to find a book to satisfy a specific mood. Then, when you come to the library and are faced with tens of thousands of different books, you stand there, scratch your head, and wonder “what the heck do I read now?!”

One place to check would be the list of our newest offerings.

The knowledgeable staff at our Brookline Village, Coolidge Corner, and Putterham Libraries have compiled lists of some of their favorite picks which can be found here.

For teens or those interested in teen literature, check out our Read Watch and Listen page, complete with a lists organized by genre and award winning titles.

Aside from the recommendations we have complied, we offer two excellent online readers’ advisory resources: Books and Authors and Novelist Plus. Both are loaded with suggestions to fit almost any need.

In addition, on the lower level of the Brookline Village Library, just behind the Information Desk, sits a shelf filled with dozens of volumes that can point to your next favorite book… or even your next hundred favorite books.
