Annual Friends Meeting – “Leading Women”

Roy Mackenzie | June 2, 2018

Join us Tuesday, June 5, 2018, for the annual meeting of the Friends of the Public Library of Brookline. This year promises to be a special treat as the Friends host Susan Quinn, author of the bestselling memoir Eleanor and Hick, a “fascinating and gossipy” (NY Review of Books) book that tells story of the relationship between Eleanor Roosevelt and journalist Lorena “Hick” Hickok). Quinn, our own leading woman, will talk about how she came to write such a captivating book and about her experiences growing up as a child from an Ohio mill town to growing into an adult with a varied and accomplished career as a biographer, journalist, investigative reporter, and actress.

There will be a short business meeting at 6:30 PM followed by the author talk at 7 PM.

Refreshments will be served.

You can learn more about the Friends and their activities through the Friends of the Brookline Public Library 2018 Newsletter.
