Children’s Room Construction

MONDAY, February 10 - WEDNESDAY, February 12

The Brookline Village Children’s Room will be closed for carpet replacement from Monday, February 10 through Wednesday, February 12. Youth Services staff and a small selection of Children’s materials will be located on the second floor in Hunneman Hall during the closure. The rest of the Library will remain open during the room closure.

No afternoon Children’s programs will be held on February 10, 11, or 12. Terrific Twos (And Threes!) on Tuesday, February 11 at 10:30 AM will be held on the ground floor in the Commons. Mother Goose On the Loose on Wednesday, February 12 at 10:30 AM will be held on the ground floor in the Commons. Neither storytime will require a ticket. Please contact the Children’s Room at 617-730-2340 for any questions.

Library Closed for Presidents Day

MONDAY, February 17

All Public Library of Brookline locations will be closed Monday, February 17 for Presidents Day. Regular hours will resume on Tuesday, February 18.

Pop in for pop up card making with The Makery! Learn the art of designing paper pop-ups, and create unique and heartfelt cards for loved ones in your life. Participants will be guided by expert instructors, and have a variety of paper and finishing materials available to work with.

Join us as we use the Cricut to design, cut, and construct our own Valentines! All ages welcome.

AARP Tax Assistance Program

AARP Volunteer Tax Assistance will be available at the Brookline Village Library on the following days: February 13, February 20, February 21, March 5, March 6, and March 13.

There is no income guideline to qualify for assistance, however, AARP’s target group for the tax aid program is low and moderate individuals or families. Appointments must be made in person at the Brookline Village Reference Desk. For more information please visit or call the Reference Desk at the Brookline Village Library at 617-730-2370.

Teen Chocolate Olympics

Join us for a special movin’ groovin’ performance from Vanessa Trien in memory of beloved Children’s Librarian, Paula Sharaga.

Local performing artist Vanessa Trien has been entertaining children and families with her amazing singing and guitar skills since 2005 and has three Parents’ Choice award-winning albums. Famous for her highly interactive shows, Vanessa is fun for the whole family! Best for ages three and up.
