Virtual Japanese Paper Theater (Kamishibai) with Yumi

Join us on Facebook Live to watch kamishibai storyteller Yumi Izuyama retell Goethe’s famous fable, The Boy and the Jaguar! Kamishibai is a Japanese paper storytelling method that will engage kids and adults alike.

Enjoy STEM art activities after the performance to enhance the engagement of the children and show how these stories can relate to them and their own families and community. Recommended for children ages 4-7 years old.

Virtual Boabom Classes

WEDNESDAYS, May 20 and 27 at 7 PM

Join Yemado, Director of the Boston School of Boabom, for an online course in Boabom, a system of breathing, meditation, movement, and defense with roots in ancient Tibet. This course will introduce both the gentle and faster systems of movement within the Boabom Arts. Classes will practice breathing techniques, stretching and strengthening exercises, and movements designed to build coordination and focus, combining them into a harmonious class that is both relaxing and invigorating.

All you need to participate are comfortable clothes that you can move around in, enough space to stretch your arms fully, and be able to take a couple of steps. No prior experience is required. All are welcome!

Virtual Nature Talks with Mass Audubon!

Join the Library and Mass Audubon on Facebook Live for a virtual nature talk! Learn about animals, see them LIVE, and ask all your burning questions in a Q&A at the end. This is an all-ages program but will mostly be targeted at our friends who are in grades K-4. You can access the livestream on the Public Library of Brookline’s Facebook page.
