As reported to the Select Board in accordance with Massachusetts General Laws Chapter, 41, section 11, the Board of Library Trustees has announced the resignation of Trustees Puja Mehta and Vivien Goldman, effective immediately.

The law mandates that the Library Trustees and the Select Board act jointly to fill the vacancies until the next annual town election, which will take place in May 2021. For the purpose of considering candidates to fill the vacancies, the Trustees and the Board are publicly soliciting candidates.

Interested persons should submit a letter and their resume to the Board of Library Trustees by e-mail to librarytrustees@brooklinema.gov or by regular mail at 361 Washington Street, Brookline, Massachusetts 02445 no later than December 10, 2020.

Interested candidates must be registered voters of the town, and must state whether, if appointed, they would run for the remainder of Ms. Goldman’s and Ms. Mehta’s terms (three years and one year, respectively). It is expected that the joint boards will interview candidates and fill the vacancy at a Joint Convention to be held on January 12, 2021.
