Library Closed for New Year's Day
|
|
All Public Library of Brookline locations will close at 5 PM on Tuesday, December 31 and remain closed Wednesday, January 1 for New Year's Day. Regular hours will resume Thursday, January 2.

Author Talk: Brigid Kemmerer in conversation with Jodi Picoult

SATURDAY, January 11 at 2:30 PM

Bestselling author Brigid Kemmerer will discuss her newest young adult novel – A Heart So Fierce and Broken, book two in the Cursebreakers Series – in conversation with Jodi Picoult. Following the discussion, Kemmerer will be available to sign books.

Fans of the Cursebreakers series are welcome to dress in costume. This program is in partnership with the Brookline Booksmith.

English Club
|

FRIDAYS, starting January 10, at 10:30 AM
|
Come practice English at the Library! This drop-in program is open to adult English language learners of all levels. We will play games, learn about Library resources, read poetry, and explore the mysteries of the English language as a group. The English Club meets every Friday, starting January 10, in the Brookline Village Commons.

Exhibit: Turkish Spoon Collection
|
|
On view at the Coolidge Corner Library, January 2-30, 2020: Turkish Spoons from the collection of Nicholas Johnson. View about 40 vintage spoons with carved, painted, and stamped decoration. Some spoons feature calligraphy, with quotations from the Koran or from Rumi. Others are painted with scenes from noteworthy places, where they were sold as souvenirs.
