Virtual Author Event: Jeff Zentner

Join us in welcoming bestselling Young Adult author Jeff Zentner!
|
Jeff Zentner is the author of New York Times Notable Book The Serpent King, Goodbye Days, and Rayne & Delilah’s Midnite Matinee. His latest book, In The Wild Light, has drawn critical acclaim. He has won the William C. Morris Award, the Amelia Elizabeth Walden Award, the International Literacy Association Award, and the Westchester Fiction Award. He’s a two-time Southern Book Prize finalist, been longlisted for the Carnegie Medal and UKLA, and was a finalist for the Indies Choice Award. He was selected as a Publishers Weekly Flying Start and an Indies Introduce pick. His books have been translated into fifteen languages. Before becoming a writer, he was a musician who recorded with Iggy Pop, Nick Cave, and Debbie Harry. He lives in Nashville, Tennessee.

Virtual Onigiri Action Kit Cooking Class
|
|
Let’s make onigiri, Japanese rice balls!
Learn about and make onigiri, Japanese rice balls, and make a difference with the Onigiri Action campaign. This annual event, organized by TABLE FOR TWO, is a social good campaign to address food insecurity.
|
Registration for kits is required! There are 30 Onigiri Action kits available for reservation. Each kit contains all of the ingredients and tools you and your family will need to make onigiri plus a few surprises to make the class more fun. We will have 10 kits to pick up at each of our library locations.
|
This is a family-friendly event and all ages are welcome, and we encourage families to enjoy the program together. This event is generously sponsored by the Brookline Library Foundation.

Wings of Fire Trivia and Author Event
|
|
THURSDAY, December 16 at 7 PM
|
Join us for a special night of questions, answers, and trivia with the author of the Wings of Fire series, Tui Sutherland!
|
Tui will admire select pieces of art and answer questions submitted by you, our patrons. Then, you will get to play Tui’s Wings of Fire trivia game! The top three trivia winners with a Public Library of Brookline library card will receive a very special prize.
|
To submit art, prose, or a question for Tui, simply drop by any of our Children’s or Tween Rooms to pick up a form, or download a form below. Once your submission is complete, return it in person to one of our librarians. All forms must be submitted by December 13!
|
Some important details for this event: You will need TWO DEVICES in order to enjoy the optimal experience – a computer/smart phone (to join the Zoom webinar) and a smart phone or tablet (to submit your trivia answers).
