Open Game Play with Virtual Reality

One Up Games brings a variety of next-gen consoles and gaming monitors to the Library! Featuring popular games, classic, and retro games, plus virtual reality. Try out different systems and games, with the freedom to move around! Systems include: Nintendo Switch, XBox Series S, PlayStation 4, and Oculus Quest 2.

Limited to 30 participants. All attendees must have a ticket from the Children’s desk, which are available a half hour before the program begins.

This program is for children ages 8 and up.

Queer Art Night with Alex Makes Art

December 12, 2023 6:30 PM @ Brookline Village - Tween Room

Join us for a cheerful evening of crafting and queer community building at the Brookline Village Library. Alex Makes Art will be leading a night of DIY! You’ll learn how to make your own gift wrap by carving potatoes and stamp, stamp, stamping. There will also be a buffet of bits and bobs to create unique decorations. Share in the spirit of the season in a collaborative, community environment.

This event is drop-in and open to all adults, no registration required.

Register for 90-Second Moviemakers!

BEGINS JANUARY 18 AND ENDS MARCH 15
Interested in moviemaking? Want to see your films on the big screen? Become a 90-Second Moviemaker, and all your dreams will come true.
During this eight-week-long program, students will condense the plot of a Newbery Award- or Honor-winning book into a short, 90 second-long video, which they will write, film, and perform themselves. The final result will be submitted to the 90-Second Newbery Festival and hosted at a live screening at the Brookline Interactive Group Studio!
Participants must commit to attending every session. For ages eight and up.
