Open Game Play with Virtual Reality

Brookline Village

One Up Games brings a variety of next-gen consoles and gaming monitors to the Library! Featuring popular games, classic, and retro games, plus virtual reality. Try out different systems and games, with the freedom to move around! Systems include: Nintendo Switch, XBox Series S, PlayStation 4, and Oculus Quest 2.

Limited to 30 participants. All attendees must have a ticket from the Children’s desk, which are available a half hour before the program begins.

This program is for children ages 8 and up.

International Day of Light

Celebrate the International Day of Light at the Putterham Library! Each year on May 16, people around the world celebrate the many ways that light and related technologies have revolutionized society. Local high school student Sarya Refai will demonstrate hands-on science experiments focused on light and optics. Activities will include augmented reality, stained polarized glass, a laser maze, fiber optics, and more!

This program is best-suited for children ages 8 and up. No registration required.

Korean Children's Day Celebration

Enjoy crafts and stories in honor of May’s Korean Children’s Day and Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month in partnership with the Korean Cultural Society of Boston! Ideal for kids ages 6-10 and their families. Due to the room capacity, space is limited, so tickets can be picked up on a first come, first served basis at the children’s desk starting at 2:30 PM on the day of the event.
