New Library of Things Item: Sensory Kits!
The Public Library of Brookline is excited to offer a new addition to our Library of Things: Sensory Kits.
|
These kits contain a variety of materials for those with sensory processing needs.

Not Really So Scary Animals
with Joys of Nature
|
|
Some animals like sharks, snakes, and spiders we think of as scary, but are they really when we learn more about them? Many seemingly “scary animals” have really important jobs in nature, even helping people! See giant megalodon shark teeth and don’t miss meeting some not really so scary animals too!
|
This program is recommended for kids ages 5-9 and their families.
|
Tickets will be available 30 minutes before the start time of each session at the Children’s Desk of the Brookline Village Library.

Join us for a campfire-themed Pajama Storytime! Wear your pajamas and bring a stuffed animal to enjoy our summer tales!

This storytime is geared for kids who are ages 0 to 5 years-old.
|
Storytime tickets are not required for this event and will take place in the Children’s Garden. In case of inclement weather or extreme heat, this event will move indoors to the Rabbit Hole.

Please join Shared Habitat Earth in Hunneman Hall at Brookine Village to celebrate the beginning of their two art exhibits: For the Love of Our Planet.
|
In two exhibits, one at Brookline Village and the other at Coolidge Corner, 20 local artists will be showing new work, inspired by the beauty of Nature. Through painting, etching, and photography they celebrate life on our planet, while also confronting the threat of losing it.
|
The exhibitions will include educational components and a special event, offering a conversation about ways to keep hope alive and to actively respond to the climate crisis.

Millennial Book Group
New Date! Millennial Book Group will be shifting Days.

The Millennial Book Group will meet at the Coolidge Corner Library on the Third Tuesday of the month from 7 - 8 p.m.. For the month of July readers will be discussing Yellowface by R.F. Kuang.

Silent Book Club
Coming soon! Join your fellow readers at the Coolidge Corner Library for a Silent Book Club. Socialize with fellow readers and tackle your TBR Pile.

Starting on August 1st, Silent Book Club will be held monthly on the first Thursday of the Month from 7 - 8:30 p.m.

Seeking Volunteer English Tutors
|
|
The Public Library of Brookline is seeking volunteer tutors for the one-on-one tutoring program!
|
If you are curious about other cultures and can commit to a weekly one-hour language practice session for five months, consider becoming a volunteer English language tutor at the Public Library of Brookline.
|
Our English Language Tutoring program for adults matches volunteer English speakers with English language learners for weekly practice sessions. No teaching experience is necessary and extensive online training is provided.
|
