What do birds do on Thursday nights? Play fla-bingo! We don’t have any live flamingos at the Library, but we will be having a family-friendly bingo game in the Tween Room (on the ground floor). Whether you’re a bingo pro or are playing for the first time, we invite you to join us for a fun evening filled with bingo, prizes, and maybe even some more bingo jokes! This program is for kids of all ages and their families.

In this program with Hillel Bromberg you will spend some time getting to know tea’s delightful flavors and aromas, as well as its fascinating history, how it’s made, where it’s from, and what it can do for you.
You’ll learn how to steep tea for best flavor and sample several varieties, such as a delicate white, smooth oolong, refreshing green, malty black, and a, well, we won’t give away the surprise.
No registration is needed. The program is limited to first 35 attendees.

Tea can be sweet, rich, buttery, and citrusy. It can wake you up and calm you down. Tea has a history that spans the globe and health benefits that will keep you going. It has been cultivated for over 4,000 years and is the second most popular drink in the world (behind water).
Hillel Bromberg is a certified tea sommelier always looking to increase his own knowledge of tea and expose as many people as possible to the delights of Camellia sinensis. When he is not steeping, he writes, bikes, cares for his family, and cooks fine vegetarian fare.

SEEKING VOLUNTEERS: Girls Who Code
Looking for an opportunity to give back?
We need volunteers to help lead our Girls Who Code club! We are partnering with Girls Who Code to bring free computer science opportunities to girls across our community. We are looking for volunteers like you to help facilitate our Clubs and would love for you to become a Volunteer Facilitator at the Public Library of Brookline! Through our free Girls Who Code Clubs (In-person or Virtual) program, you can access free resources, 120+ hours of customizable plug and play curricula, inspiring women in tech spotlights, community-building activities, comprehensive support and training, and more to help our local 5th-12th graders be brave and resilient as they use code to change the world. Plus -- NO prior coding experience needed to facilitate your Club! Our Clubs support 3-5th and 6-12th grade students, and we are looking for three more passionate volunteers to help facilitate our Club. To find out our requirements, details, and to apply, please visit the Girls Who Code Clubs page here.
