English Class for Parents and Guardians

ESOL Family Literacy is a free, ten-week English language course intended for immigrant and international parents and guardians with school-age children in Brookline. The course uses engaging, literature-based activities to practice English in new ways at an intermediate level. This course ultimately aims to support parents’ and guardians’ English language development, to increase understanding and utilization of the library, to honor the diversity of families in Brookline, and to foster intergenerational learning and the sharing of stories at home and beyond. The facilitator, Alicia Hsu, is an experienced educator who taught for many years at the Lawrence School and is now pleased to teach adults. This course is offered in partnership with the Brookline ESOL Program, a service of the Brookline Housing Authority, with support from First Literacy and other funders.
Registration begins September 24. To sign up for this course, please call the Brookline ESOL Program at 617-413-4186 or email esol@brooklinehousing.org.
