Eclipse Exploration at Putterham

Sun-shaped cookies with smiley faces

On Monday, April 8 2024 the US will experience a total solar eclipse! In Brookline, we’ll experience approximately 92% obscuration of the sun. Join us on Saturday, March 16 at Putterham to start preparing for the eclipse! We’ll learn what creates the conditions for a solar eclipse and take a closer look at the sun through sunoculars and a solar telescope. After we learn about the sun, participants will get to decorate (and eat!) a planetary cookie.

The first half of this program will take place outside, weather permitting. The second half will take place in the Meeting Room.

This program is for kids ages 7+. No registration required. While supplies last.

This event is generously sponsored by the Brookline Library Foundation.
