Japanese Paper Theater (Kamishibai) with Yumi

legend of the sunflower

Join Kamishibai Storyteller Yumi Izuyama to experience the Legend of the Sunflower! Kamishibai is a Japanese paper storytelling method that will engage kids and adults alike for a retelling of the Amazonian origin story for sunflowers. Hear about the history of kamishibai, discuss the Amazon forest, enjoy the kamishibai presentation, and create a sunflower to take home! For children ages four to seven years old. Please arrive early to ensure a spot; this program is first-come, first-serve, to the first 30 children

Visit Yumi Izuyama’s website for more information on Kamishibai at http://japanesepapertheater.com/.
This program is brought to you by Ideaspace. Ideaspace is generously funded by the Brookline Library Foundation and brought to you with federal funds provided by the Institute of Museum and Library Services and administered by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.
