Learn Something New: Pen and Ink Drawing Workshop

This is part of our “Learn Something New” series of programs for adults!

Are you a stick-figure artist yearning become a more capable composer of sketches? In this hands-on class we’ll be learning the basics of pen handling and use from Boston-area artist, Eli Portman, as well as beginner drawing concepts of linework, hatching, composition, form, shading, etc…

Each person will get the opportunity to explore and experiment with this fascinating and versatile tool for themselves. Intermediate and advanced artists are also welcome to come and do some drawing with us, and learn higher techniques and concepts of their choosing.

Portman graduated from the State University of New York at Binghamton with a Bachelors Degree in studio art in 2014. His work has been hung in galleries, shops, and cafes throughout the Greater Boston Area.  You can see examples of his work on his website HERE.

Attendees will need to register in advance so we can ensure enough supplies to go around.
