Literacy for Immigrant Families
Literacy for Immigrant Families is a program where parents and students come together to read grade-level books and learn how to support literacy development. The program is designed for emerging and struggling readers in grades 1-5. Students have opportunities to practice reading skills using different strategies. After reading a book, students complete a book review and discuss the elements of a story to enhance reading comprehension and vocabulary skills. Parents participate alongside their children. The program is supported by partnerships between the district’s ELL program and the Brookline Main Library.Add to Google Calendar
