Literacy for Immigrant Students

Literacy for Immigrant Students is a program for emerging readers in grades 1-4 registered in the district’s English Learner Education (ELE) program. Students will read a leveled reading book, complete a book review, and discuss the elements of a story to enhance reading comprehension, vocabulary building, and writing skills. The program is supported by partnerships between the Public Schools of Brookline’s ELE program and the Brookline Village Library. Preregistration is required through the district’s ELE office.
