Telescope Launch Party

“Backyard Astronomy : Scanning January Skies Using the New Library Telescope!”

Join us as the Library celebrates the expansion of our latest collection, circulating telescopes! Enjoy a cup of hot cocoa – and other out-of-this-world refreshments – and learn how to use these incredible devices to explore the night sky.

John Root from Aldrich Astronomical will give a presentation about the telescopes, how to use them, and what you can see from your own backyard. Afterward, telescopes will be set up outside the library for a special night sky viewing.  Spacey door prizes will be offered for children, along with outside viewing for all, weather permitting. All ages are welcome.

Many thanks to the Friends of the Library for their generous support and contribution, and to Aldrich Astronomical for the construction and maintenance of these special library telescopes.
