Awesome Robb’s Pirate Magic Show

March 29, 2024 2:00 PM @ Brookline Village - Hunneman Hall

Set sail with Pirate Magician Robbie Bones! Join us in Hunneman Hall on March 29th at 2 PM for a pirate magic juggling show where kids will learn to speak like a pirate and laugh like a rogue! Sensory Storytime

Sensory Storytime

April 3, 2024 6:30 PM @ Brookline Village - The Rabbit Hole

Join us for Sensory Storytime at 6:30 PM in the Rabbit Hole at the Brookline Village Library. This storytime includes songs, books, and movement activities and will be followed by a free play activity.

Sensory storytime is designed for children who may need extra sensory support or for families who are looking for a more adaptive storytime experience, but all are welcome. This program is suggested for children ages 2-5 and their families, but you can decide if it’s the right fit for your family.

In order to help us keep this program sensory-friendly, it has a limited capacity and free tickets are required to attend. You can pick up a free ticket at the children’s desk beginning 30 minutes before the program.

Please Note: All storytimes include “sensory friendly” practices (e.g. routines, repetition, body breaks/movement, etc.). Our Sensory Storytime, however, includes additional practices such as a smaller group-size, lower lighting, lower music volume, adaptive supports, etc.

To prepare for this program, read our social story about visiting the Library and read our social story specifically about sensory storytime at the Brookline Village Library

Author Event with Jonathan Todd

Author Event with Jonathan Todd

April 6, 2024 2:00 PM @ Putterham - Meeting Room

Timid, a new graphic novel by Jonathan Todd is making its debut! This novel highlights a challenging time for so many of us – middle school! Cecil, the main character (and a version of the author) navigates moving from Florida to Massachusetts, starting a new school, making friends, all while trying to stay true to himself. This book is dedicated to anyone who has ever felt alone, struggled with shyness and sought belonging.

Come meet the author and learn about his writing and drawing journey. You can even draw your own comics! Signed copies of Timid will be available for purchase courtesy of Frugal Bookstore. Light refreshments will be provided.

Note-a-fy is the oldest treble voice a cappella group at Brookline High School! They sing a variety of styles including indie pop/rock, folk, R&B, and alternative. All songs are arranged by members of the group!

Perfect Pitch is a student-directed female-identifying a cappella group at Brookline High School. They experiment with many different genres but mainly focus on pop and well-known songs.
