Happy Birthday, Harry Potter!

WEDNESDAY, July 31

Come celebrate Harry Potter’s birthday with us! Write a letter to J. K. Rowling, make Harry Potter crafts, play games, enter to win fun prizes, and more! Each Brookline library location will feature different activities from 1-5 PM.

At 6 PM at the Putterham Library, the fun continues with a special screening of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. This movie is rated PG for some scary moments and mild language. Recommended for children ages 7 and up.

Introducing Adventure Backpacks

Looking to get out and explore more this summer? Now all you need is a library card. Courtesy of L.L. Bean, the Library is excited to offer circulating adventure backpacks, both day bags and overnight packs, all equipped with binoculars, trail maps, and other exploration equipment! You can also borrow a four-person tent to bring on your next camping trip. Adventure backpacks are available at the Brookline Village Library, and you can request them through our catalog.

Flying High Dogs

Join us on the lawn next to Town Hall for an amazing show from four of the most athletic Border Collies on the planet. They’ll perform with Mike Piazza, multiple world finalist and world record holder in K-9 Frisbee and the current #1 Professional K-9 frisbee performer in the world!

The inclement weather date for this program in August 13. Generously sponsored by the Friends of the Brookline Public Library.

Did you know the temperature in outer space is -450 degrees Fahrenheit?! That’s really cold! Join us and our friends from the Museum of Science as we use cryogenics to explore what happens when science gets super-cold! Children ages 5 and up welcome. Tween Tie-Dye Party

THURSDAY, August 8 at 4 PM

Grab your favorite pieces of white clothing and join us for a tie-dyed afternoon outside! A limited number white T-shirts will be given out for those who need them, but we cannot guarantee any certain sizes will be available. Participants are encouraged to bring their own white clothing. Open to tweens entering grades 5-7 and their families.
