Outdoor Puppet Storytime

with Through Me to You Puppetry

Join us for a fun and interactive puppet storytime with Leigh Baltzer from Through Me to You Puppetry. This program is recommended for ages 0 – 5, but kids and families of all ages are welcome!

This program will be outdoors at the Putterham Library. If the weather is not suitable for an outdoor program, it will be moved inside to the Meeting Room. Any location change will be announced on Library social media and our calendar listing will be updated. This event is generously sponsored by the Friends of the Brookline Public Library.

Join us for a virtual talk and Q&A with Ryka Aoki in celebration of the paperback release of her novel, Light from Uncommon Stars!

Good Omens meets The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet in Ryka Aoki’s Light From Uncommon Stars, a defiantly joyful adventure set in California’s San Gabriel Valley, with cursed violins, Faustian bargains, and queer alien courtship over fresh-made donuts.

Camping on the Moon: NASA Ambassadors

Have you ever looked up at the moon at night and wondered what it would be like to visit? Imagine going on a camping trip to the Moon! How would you get there and what do you think you’ll find when you land?

Join NASA Solar System Ambassador Pat Monteith for a camping trip to the Moon. She’ll have some fun activities including balloon rockets and creating your own diorama of a Moon landing to take home with you. For children in grades 2 and up.

Spend an afternoon in the tween room playing Switch games! No sign-ups necessary. First come, first served.

Tween & Teen ideaSPACE: Zine-Making

Join us in the ideaSPACE to learn about zines! These handmade magazines can be about anything you want, from pop culture to politics. We’ll have all of the materials you need to start creating your own. Open to tweens and teens in grades 5-12 only. No registration required.

Outdoor Camp Crafts

THURSDAY, July 28 at 3:30 PM

Drop in between 3:30 and 4:30 PM to make camp-themed crafts! Design with paint, beads, markers, and string. There will be multiple craft options available. This program is designed for children ages 5-9.

The drop-in craft program will be on the lawn between Brookline Village and Town Hall. If the weather is not suitable for an outdoor program, the program will be moved indoors.
