Join us for an author talk with Sacha Lamb in celebration of their novel When the Angels Left the Old Country. This event will include a Q&A and book signing, and copies of When the Angels Left the Old Country will be available for purchase courtesy of Brookline Booksmith.

When the Angels Left the Old Country is a queer immigrant fairytale about individual purpose, the fluid nature of identity, and the power of love to change and endure.

Celebrate your love of musical theater with Music Trivia – Broadway Edition! Presenter Ben Pernick combines live performance, fun facts, trivia, and games based on box-office hits, including The Sound of Music, Fiddler on the Roof, Hamilton, and many more. This program for adults is an interactive tour of Broadway’s greatest showstoppers. Join us to test your musical know-how, learn fun trivia, and hear some showtunes live!

Silly Saturday Storytime

SATURDAY, December 17 at 11 AM

Join Miss Macy for our silliest storytime ever on Saturday, December 17 at 11 AM in Hunneman Hall! We’ll read silly books guaranteed to make you laugh; sing, move, and groove to silly songs; and you’ll even get your own silly craft to take and make at home. You’re invited to wear a silly hat or your silliest piece of clothing to get in the spirit!

Silly Saturday Storytime is designed for kids ages 0-5, but will appeal to kids and families of all ages. Free tickets are required for this storytime and will be available at the Children’s Desk on the day of program starting at 10:30 AM.

Registration opens Monday, December 19 at 6 PM for our Winter 2023 Kids Clubs! These clubs will run from January through March on Tuesdays afternoons. All clubs meet in the Rabbit Hole on the ground floor of the Brookline Village Library. This winter we'll be offering Pollywogs (grades 1-2), Leapfrogs (grades 3-4), Bullfrogs Graphic Novel Club (grades 1-4), and our Kids RPG Club (ages 5-9). Along the Wrack Line - Rebecca McGee Tuck is a fiber sculptor and a collector of lost objects. In her continuing series “Along the Wrack Line,” she transforms pieces of marine debris into works of art and symbols of hope, calling attention to the consequences of polluting our oceans and encouraging a new commitment to action. On display through January 31.

Fine Art by Scyrus - Scyrus has a deep interest in art, which is inspired by a love of nature and the things that surround us. Working mainly in soft pastels, Scyrus also has a substantial amount of work in colored pencil, watercolor & watercolored pencil, graphite, charcoal, and mixed media. On display though January 31.

Hirona’s Junior Ranger Badge Collection and Leela’s Art Projects - Check out the collections on display in the Children’s Room! In our flat case, Hirona shares her collection of Junior Ranger Badges. Hirona is in the second grade at Lawrence School. She loves to visit National Parks! In our wall case, Leela shares her assorted art projects. Leela is five years old, and her collection includes art made of clay and pipe cleaners, as well as drawings! On display through December 19.
