SATURDAY May 5

Mark your calendar: On Saturday, May 5th the Library Foundation is hosting Kentucky Derby Day at the Coolidge Corner Library – just before the location closes for a brief renovation.

We’ll sip mint juleps, listen to Bluegrass music and watch the 144th running of The Kentucky Derby – all while raising money to support the renovation and fund technology at each of our libraries. When we heard that the Coolidge Library would temporarily close for repairs this summer, the Library Foundation offered to contribute additional capital to make significant upgrades for the future.

Get your Derby hats ready and join your friends and neighbors to watch the most exciting two minutes in sports! Help us set the pace early by taking two minutes now to pledge advance support by March 22nd and be listed on the invitation.
Click on DerbyDay@Coolidge for more information and watch for ticket sales to begin April 1st.

Five Team Brookline runners have been training all winter to be ready to run the Boston Marathon on April 16th. They are raising money for the Library Foundation's programs. Encourage their hard work by checking out their individual pages here and make a donation to bring them closer to their fundraising goals! Cheer for them on April 16th, Patriots Day and Marathon Day as they make their way down Beacon Street.

Peper and Legend

What you call them every day other than their name: Legeymonster and Pepperoni.
A favorite quirk in their behavior: Legend's favorite food is carrots.
Favorite sleeping spot: Legend loves sleeping inside of pillowcases and sleeping buried under blankets.
Can they do a trick? Legend is a great traveler while Peper loves stealing pens and hiding them in her bed.
