Author Talk: Vera Brosgol

Join us for an afternoon talk with artist and author Vera Brosgol! Vera’s most recent book, Be Prepared, is a look at the author’s time attending a Russian summer camp as a child. A book signing will take place after the talk. Books will be sold by Comicopia.
In collaboration with MICE – The Massachusetts Independent Comics Expo.

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten Literacy Fair

Can you and your child read 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten? Would you like tips on how to boost their early literacy skills? Come TALK, SING, READ, WRITE, and PLAY with us, and sign up for our 1,000 book challenge. Bring your children (ages 0-5) or come on your own!
Sign-up for 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten will begin at this time and continue at the Brookline Village Children’s Desk and Putterham Library.

Writing Workshop with S. Li

SATURDAY, October 20 at 2 PM

What does it mean to aspire to create? Come hear from novelist S. Li about what inspires him to write and discuss how you can find inspiration in reading. He will talk about reading with the aim of learning from good writing, and what he looks for in other writers. Bring ideas and questions of your own to share about your inspirations and aspirations.

Family Fall Fest

Come to the Public Library of Brookline side lawn for our seventh annual Family Fall Fest! There will be mini pumpkin painting, face painting, a guess-that-literary-character pumpkin judging contest, pumpkin bowling, fall-themed snacks, and more. Rain location will be in Hunneman Hall. For ages 3 and up.

Geek Out Group

Join us for a new group! The Geek Out Group is a space for adults to celebrate and bond over their enthusiasm for books, movies, TV shows, comics, games, and more. The Geek Out Group meets on the fourth Wednesday of every month. Snacks will be provided.
