Library Closed for Patriots' Day

Patriot's Day
All Public Library of Brookline locations will be closed Monday, April 15 for Patriots' Day. Regular hours will resume Tuesday, April 16.

Join us as Meredith May discusses her new book, The Honey Bus, in conversation with Noah Wilson-Rich. Part memoir, part beekeeping odyssey, The Honey Bus is an unforgettable story about finding home in the most unusual of places, and how a tiny, little-understood insect could save a life.
This event is in partnership with Brookline Booksmith.

THURSDAY, April 13 at 2 PM

Join us for the Brookline Chinese School’s annual Chinese Recitation and Penmanship Contest! Students at the school will celebrate their learning through a demonstration of their Chinese reciting and handwriting skills. In addition to the contest and awards ceremony, this program will include traditional music, dance, martial arts, and more.
This program is in partnership with the Brookline Chinese School.

Learn about tick-borne illnesses, and how to be safe outdoors during the warmer months, with staff from the Department of Public Health and the Brookline Health Department. The April 9 session at the Coolidge Corner Library will be a bilingual program presented in both English and Mandarin.
This program is in partnership with the Brookline Health Department and is part of the Learn Something New series for adults.

Foam Wig and Fireball Tutorial

FRIDAY, April 12 at 2 PM

Learn how to make your very own wig… out of foam! If magic is for you, create a prop fireball! Our demo will teach you the skills and imagination behind making your costume your own with simple materials and inspiration.

Due to the limits on supplies, we have materials and structures to start making up to four wigs. Everyone will learn the basic skills and get hands-on experience. Any teen who starts a wig is welcome to come back on their own time to finish their project.
