DIY Resin Bookmarks for Teens and Tweens

Join us to make do-it-yourself resin bookmarks! Use special materials to create bookmarks with our ideaSPACE equipment, like UV resin and resin lamps!
For tweens and teens in grades 5-12 (ages 10-18) only.

Visible Mending Workshop with Mariko Sugimori

Thursday, March 12, 11 AM to 1 PM
Join Mariko Sugimori of Zoe & Mona Mending for an introduction to basic mending techniques that are also fun and artistic. This is a beginner friendly class, and all materials will be provided.

Pop Up Art School Presents: Reverse Painting

Learn about the centuries-old art of reverse glass painting and create your own reverse painting!
For ages 16+.

Pins for Pi Day

Friday, March 13, 1 PM to 3 PM
Prepare for Pi Day a day early at the Putterham Library. Learn how to use the button maker while making Pi (and Pie) themed buttons.
This is a drop-in event for all ages.

Little Groove Family Concert

Saturday, March 14, 11 AM to 11:40 AM
Sing, dance, and have some fun with a musician from Little Groove in this interactive 40-minute concert.
For kids ages 0-5 and their caregivers.
Free tickets are required and will be available at the Children’s Desk 30 minutes before the program begins.

Open Game Play with Virtual Reality

One Up Games brings a variety of next-gen consoles and gaming monitors to the Library for open game play.
This program is open to all ages and has a 30 player capacity.

LARP Adventure for Tweens & Teens

Saturday, March 14, 1 PM to 3 PM
Create a character, learn foam weapon combat, and see if you have what it takes to be a hero with LARP Adventure Program, the longest-running LARP (Live Action Role Playing) program in Massachusetts.
For tweens and teens in grades 5-12 (ages 10-18) only.
Limited to 20 participants, registration required.

March Book Madness Round 1 Voting

Saturday, March 7 - Friday March 13
Vote in the first round of our March Book Madness competition via Google Form to decide which 8 books will move forward! Anyone who votes in this first round will have an additional 2 points added to their bracket total!!

DPW Energy Advocate Office Hours

Town of Brookline Energy Advocate Caroline Staudt will be available to provide free, personalized guidance to Brookline residents and small business owners on energy efficiency programs, as well as assistance with understanding utility bills and determining eligibility for discounted utility rates. No registration necessary.

Creative Writing Workshop with Author Kosoko Jackson

Wednesday, March 18, 3:30 PM to 5 PM
Spend an afternoon writing with New England author Kosoko Jackson! Participants will create an outline for a story and leave with a their own writing sample! For folks in grades 8-12.

AARP Tax Preparation Assistance

Putterham
Thursday, March 19, 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM
Get tax preparation help from trained and certified AARP Foundation Tax-Aide volunteers! The volunteers will provide free tax assistance and preparation services to low and moderate-income older adults.
You must register for an appointment by calling 617-730-2369.

Cross-Stitch Basics with Hipstitch

Thursday, March 19, 6 PM to 8 PM
Hipstitch returns to the library to introduce the basics of cross-stitch. Learn this needle craft and walk away with the skills to tackle your own projects at home and a starter craft.
This program is suitable for ages 16+.
Attendance is limited to 12 participants. Tickets available at the Patron Services Desk starting at 5:30 PM.

Puberty & Consent Talks for Tweens and Caregivers

Join local educator Ana Maria Ramos from Familia Sex Talks for an interactive workshop designed for tweens (ages 8-12) and their caregivers to explore the physical, emotional, and social changes of puberty in a safe and supportive environment.

An Evening with the Brookline Symphony Chamber Players

The Brookline Council on Aging/Senior Center, in partnership with a research team at UMass Boston, is working to learn from and about senior residents. Your participation will provide guidance to ensure that Brookline remains a strong place to grow older. Surveys can be completed and submitted at all three Library locations or submitted online here. Responses are due by Friday, March 20!
