Staff from the Joanne Langione Dance Center bring us this fun family event where music, movement, and literature align to encourage exploration, imaginative play, and a love for shimmying and shaking! Capacity is limited and RSVPs are encouraged. Additional free tickets will be available at the children’s desk starting at 10 AM.

Join us in celebrating Lunar New Year and the Year of the Horse with a special performance. Gund Kwok Asian Women's Lion and Dragon Dance Troupe returns to the Library to perform for the community and explain the history of the Lion Dance and its significance for Lunar New Year.

This program is suitable for all ages and will take place in the atrium of the main library floor.

No plans this weekend? How about a Blind Date with a Book? We've wrapped up a selection of books so that the title and cover are hidden. Pick a book based on the short description and genre provided (no peeking!) and check it out at the desk. Embrace the mystery and enjoy your blind date!

At Brookline Village - Black History Month
|
|
|
Our lobby display cases feature Black History Month books for young people, including biographies, historical fiction, poetry, arts, and history. Did you know that the first Black History Week was celebrated in 1926? This display commemorates a century of growing understanding of the impact of Black history on American culture and identity. All three Brookline library locations feature Black History Month displays with books to check out and take home.
