Dr. Rosie Helps the Animals: Book Reading and Stuffed Animal Vet Clinic

Putterham
Tuesday, June 30, 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM
Author Jennifer Welborn will read from Dr. Rosie Helps the Animals, an award-winning STEM picture book based on and informed by real-world veterinarians. After the reading, participants will get to diagnose and treat a stuffed animal!
For kids ages 4-8 and their grownups.

Summer Eats Kickoff Party at Brookline Avenue Playground

Brookline Avenue Playground (575 Brookline Avenue)
Tuesday, June 30, 2 PM to 4:30 PM
Join us for free food, music, lawn games, a bouncy house, a splash pad and more, and stop by our Library table for information and free giveaways.
This event is open to all ages.
Free breakfast and lunch are provided at this location Monday through Friday from June 30 to August 14.

Drop-in Tech Time

Wednesday July 1, 11 AM to 12 PM
Drop in to learn how to use library apps and get answers to basic tech questions. Help sessions are 15 minutes long and you must bring your own device.

Pride Storytime and Craft

Wednesday July 1, 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM
Come celebrate the end of Pride Month with a storytime and craft program! We'll read some Pride-themed books and do a fun rainbow craft! This program is for kids age 3-7. Please stop by the Children’s Room Desk for a ticket, which we will begin handing out at 3 PM.

Discover Our Local Butterflies with Jerry Schneider

Celebrate summer reading and learn about butterflies with expert Jerry Schneider from Vermont! We'll also do a fun butterfly-themed t-shirt craft!

Shadow Puppet Show: The Great Zodiac River Race

Shadow Puppet Show: The Great Zodiac River Race

Tuesday, July 7, 2 PM to 3 PM
Join the puppeteers from Shadow Joy Lab for a performance of The Great Zodiac River Race and learn about the twelve animals of the Chinese Zodiac! Following the show, participants will have a chance to explore the puppets and ask questions.
All ages are welcome but this performance is recommended for children ages 4-12 and their families. Free tickets will be available at the Children's Desk beginning at 1:30 PM.

Calling all fairy folk! Join us from 4-5 PM on Thursday, June 18th in the garden outside of the Children’s room to build fairy houses out of natural materials. This is a drop-in event for kids ages 4-9.

Make a Painted Corgi: Child-Adult Craft Session with Pop Up Art School

Pairs or groups of kids, tweens, teens, and accompanying grownups will paint and customize their own adorable corgi wearing a red bandanna with a heart in this perfect mix of guided instruction and personal creativity. Registration opens Thursday, June 25.

Enjoy our Plant a Seed, Read theme this summer! Get creative with fruits and vegetables and all their shapes that you can make into art. This program is intended for children ages 4-10 and accompanying siblings and grownups. No ticket required!
