Spring Kids Club Registration Opens March 13

Registration opens Monday, March 13 at 6 PM for our Spring 2023 Kids Clubs! These clubs will run from April through June on Tuesdays afternoons. Please view event listings for specific dates. All clubs meet in the Rabbit Hole on the ground floor of the Brookline Village Library. Registration for all spring kids clubs is on Eventbrite.

Music CD Donations

The Friends of the Brookline Library are pleased to announce that they are once again accepting donations of music CDs for the Book Sale. In addition to CDs, the Friends also accept fiction and nonfiction books for all ages, as well as new jigsaw puzzles. You can learn more about donating to the Friends Book Sale on our website.

Kathleen Courtenay Stone Author Talk

Brookline Village Library

TUESDAY, March 7 at 7 PM

Join us at the Library for a very special visit from local author Kathleen Courtenay Stone! She will be discussing her book, They Called Us Girls: Stories of Female Ambition from Suffrage to Mad Men, just in time for Women’s History Month. Local independent bookstore Brookline Booksmith will be selling copies at the event starting at 6:30 PM, and Kathleen will be available to sign copies after the event.

Tween Hangout and D&D

Coolidge Corner Library

FRIDAY, March 10 at 2 PM

Join us in the Coolidge Corner program room for a variety of fun activities each Friday! This Friday, we’ll be meeting for our D&D campaign. Registration is here. This campaign will be starting at level three and progress from there. Need to create or adjust your character sheet? No worries! You can use D&D Beyond’s free character builder.

Hàn Zì 汉字 Storytime

Putterham Library

SATURDAY, March 11 at 1:30 PM

Join us for an in-person interactive Hàn Zì storytime, where we will learn simple Hàn Zì (Chinese characters) through stories and drawings. This storytime is geared for kids who are ages 1 to 6 years-old.
加入我们的汉字故事互动时间,我们将通过故事和图画学习简单的汉字。这个故事时间适合 1 至 6 岁的孩子。

This program is good for anyone who is interested in learning about Chinese Characters. No knowledge of Chinese required.
这个汉字故事互动适合任何有兴趣学习汉字的人。不需要具备中文知识。

Women of NASA

FRIDAY, March 17 at 3 PM

Brookline Village Library
Join a NASA Solar System Ambassador at 3 PM in Hunneman Hall as we celebrate Women’s History Month by learning about the women of NASA and their work on American space exploration, from being astronauts to working in math and engineering and so much more. This program includes hands-on activities and is intended for kids in grade 2 and up.

Free tickets are required for this program and will be available at the children’s desk starting at 2:30 PM.
