Mindfulness Storytime

Brookline Village Library

SATURDAY, March 25 at 11 AM

Join us for a special storytime at 11 AM in Hunneman Hall to practice mindfulness through reading, stretching, singing, and simple yoga poses. Wear comfy clothes and come with an open mind; hopefully you’ll leave relaxed and with a few tools to help you be more mindful in the future.

This program is for children ages 3+ and their families. Free tickets will be required for this program and will be available at the Children’s Desk starting at 10 AM. Masks are encouraged but not required for this program.

Anne Hanson Author Talk

Brookline Village Library

SATURDAY, March 25 at 2 PM

Join us at the Library for a special visit from local author Anne Hanson! She will be discussing her book, Buried Secrets: Looking for Frank and Ida, much of which she wrote in the Brookline Village Library’s Brookline Room. Copies of the book will be on sale starting at 1:30 PM at the entrance of Hunneman Hall, and Anne will be available to sign copies after the event.

Buried Secrets is a true-life mystery inspired by Anne Hanson's genealogical sleuthing. Learn more about the book and author here!

Waffles and White Chocolate

Indulge at our waffle bar and grab some creamy white chocolate cocoa. Open to teens in grades 8-12 only. Limited to 12 in the Rabbit Hole at a time. Enjoy while supplies last!

Water Safety Storytime with Goldfish Swim School

Join Goldfish Swim School for a special storytime, and learn about water safety for kids! This program is intended for kids ages 0-5 and their caregivers. Free tickets are required and will be available at the Children’s Desk starting at 10:30 AM.

Korean Storytime 한국 동화책 읽기 시간

Putterham Library

FRIDAY, March 24 at 3:30 PM

Join us on March 24 for fun stories in Korean! This program is aimed at children ages 0-5. This program will be held at the Putterham Library in the Meeting Room.

Inside Abilities Dance’s Studio

Brookline Village Library

Venture inside the studio of Abilities Dance Boston, a local performing company that uses dance as a tool for intersectional disability rights. Ellice Patterson, Founder and Director of Abilities Dance, will talk about the process of how Abilities works in bringing together music, movement, and more in its productions. Ellice will focus on Abilities Dance’s new production, Intersections v2, which features diverse artists within and outside of the disabled community. Intersections V2 highlights BIPOC and deaf/disabled artists and activists past and present while exploring how racial justice and disability rights advocacy interconnect. Join us for this interactive talk, and learn about Abilities Dance and the themes of Intersections V2.

Easy Rose Gardening

at the Minot Rose Garden

SATURDAY, April 1 at 2 PM

Join Master Rosarian David Cannistraro to learn the basics of selecting, planting, and caring for roses throughout the seasons. David will discuss both traditional and organic rose care, and share images of roses and local rose gardens – including Brookline’s own Minot Rose Garden!

David Cannistraro is past President of the New England Rose Society, an American Rose Society Master Rosarian, and a horticultural rose judge. He is the owner of Just Roses, a rose garden design, restoration, and maintenance company.

This program will take place at the Minot Rose Garden, in Winthrop Square Park, at the corner of Browne and St. Paul streets. In case of inclement weather, an announcement will be made 24 hours in advance and it will move to the Coolidge Corner Library Meeting Room.
