Contraluz by Kevin Harris & Fabio Rojas

Coolidge Corner Library

SUNDAY, May 7 at 2:30 PM

Join us for a live jazz concert at the Coolidge Corner Library! Contraluz is a highly interactive compilation of an original repertoire featuring the dynamic and innovating artistic talents of Kevin Harris and Fabio Rojas. It seeks to interpret a message of curiosity, persistence, courage, and exploration.

Contraluz, Spanish for "backlight," is an invitation to hold one’s own truths and beliefs up to a backlight, to examine the new perspectives offered from a vantage point. An invitation to imaginatively shift one’s views to see an alternative picture, reality, or truth. In the same way that new viewpoints warrant unfolding possibilities, Harris and Rojas see this compelling project as a continuously unfolding modern symphony.

What’s Wrong With My Houseplant?

THURSDAY, May 4 at 2 PM

Just like outdoor gardening, growing houseplants doesn’t always go as planned. Join us online and learn the factors that make for happy houseplants, including light, water, and soil… and how to provide them. We’ll discuss common houseplant pests and diseases, as well as how to treat them. This program is led by Bonnie Power, a Massachusetts Master Gardener since 2016 and a serious outdoor/indoor gardener most of her life.
