Queer & Trans History:

Looking Back and Moving Forward

Brookline Village Library

WEDNESDAY, June 7 at 7 PM

How have queer and transgender people existed throughout history? How can we learn about queer and trans people of the past, and how does their history connect to the present day?

Join us for an interactive workshop with educator Matisse DuPont, tracing the lineage of LGBTQIA+ identities related to contemporary western society. We’ll explore 200 years of history and spark your curiosity about the past, present, and future of queer and trans people. Matisse will also highlight notable figures from queer and trans history and recommend resources for further learning. This multigenerational program is geared towards adults and teens. Come with an open mind and curiosity – there will be lots of time to answer your questions.

This program is in partnership with the Brookline Council on Aging and Office of Diversity, Inclusion, and Community Relations. This event is generously sponsored by the Friends of the Brookline Public Library.
