Filming at Brookline Village on Friday Morning

As part of the Crowdsourced Boston project recreating an iconic scene from Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Brookline Interactive Group (BIG) will be filming in the early morning on the steps of Brookline Village on Friday, August 24 between 8:30 AM and 10 AM.

Filming will be completed before the library is open for business, but please be aware that access to the library's book drops and front steps may be restricted during filming.

Antique Toys in Children's Room

A toy of a character from Alice in Wonderland.
Recently, a staff member at the Library discovered a treasure trove of antique toys in the Children’s Room. Check out a photo gallery of these fascinating toys. Their history at the Library is something of a mystery, but we believe they were donated quite some time ago.
In an effort to find out who donated these toys, we are enlisting the help of you, our dedicated library patrons. Do you know anything about the history of these toys at the library? Give us a call or send us a message. We’d love to hear from you.

WHAT'S YOUR FOUR?

Children who read four or more books over the summer fare better on reading comprehension tests in the fall than their peers who read one or no books over the summer.
The Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners is challenging all residents of Massachusetts to read four books this summer – and to share their experience with others.

Here is what Shayane, from our Circulation Department, is reading this summer.
