Storytelling From Your Life:

The Craft of Sharing Memories

Coolidge Corner Library

TUESDAY, August 1 at 7 PM

In this workshop, learn how to turn meaningful personal anecdotes into engaging stories! Bring your story ideas, and, with guidance and inspiration from instructor Chandreyee Lahiri, start turning them into 5-minute stories for performance.

Youth Book Swap

Brookline Village Library

WEDNESDAY, July 26, 2-5 PM

Have books you no longer need, but also want to replace them with new books? Stop by our Youth Book Swap! Bring your gently used kids, tween, and teen books and pick up new reads while you’re at it. The book swap will run on a Take One, Leave One policy.

Teen/Tween Library Program Survey

We are expanding programming for teens and tweens in Brookline! Whether your home library is Brookline Village, Coolidge Corner, or Putterham, we invite you to fill out the Teen/Tween Library Program Survey, to help us plan programs that better meet your (or your child's) needs. Teen LEGO Build: Cambricks University

Brookline Village Library

MONDAYS July 24 - August 14 at 6:30 PM

Build a Lego set – collaboratively! This Lego build will be ongoing through July and into August in order to finish this ambitious construction. Finished set will be displayed proudly near the Teen Room for all to see! For teens in grades 8-12 only. No registration necessary.

Tween & Teen LEGO Build: Botanicals

TUESDAY, July 25 at 4 PM

Build a LEGO set – collaboratively! The LEGO builds for July are the Orchid and Wildflower Bouquet sets. The finished sets will be displayed in the Library for all to see! For tweens and teens in grades 5-12 only. No registration necessary.

Pipe Cleaner Pets

Coolidge Corner Library

WEDNESDAY, July 26 at 3 PM

Join us as we make pipe cleaner pets! Who do you want as your loyal companion – a cat, a dog, a turtle, or a pig? Your only limit is your own imagination. Attendees will get to make up to three pipe cleaner pets. For kids ages 5 and up and their caretakers.

DIY Puzzle-Making

Have you ever wanted to make your own puzzle? Learn how to DIY (do-it-yourself) and create the design with fun materials! This drop-in program is intended for kids ages 5 to 9 and their caregivers.

Tween & Teen Gaming Tournament

SATURDAY, July 29 at 2 PM

Challenge your friends in a wide selection of board games, card games, and video games! Play a new game or an old favorite, and have a chance to play a video game on our projector screen. For tweens and teens in grades 5-12 only. No registration required.

Virtual 50+ Job Seekers Networking Group

WEDNESDAYS, starting August 2

The Massachusetts Library Collaborative’s 50+ Job Seekers Networking Group meets twice monthly on Wednesdays, via Zoom. If you are unemployed and actively looking, underemployed, seeking a new career direction, re-entering the job market after a long employment gap, or recently retired and looking for your “encore career”, this networking group program is perfect for you!

We are pleased to offer two identical sessions of the 50+ Job Seekers Networking Group. You can sign up for either the morning series or the evening series, and you're welcome to attend any or all meetings. Click on the links below to learn more and register for the group.

Concert & Songwriting Workshop

with Naomi Westwater

MONDAY, August 7 at 6:30 PM

Join folk rock musician Naomi Westwater and their band for an evening of live music inspired by nature. Following the concert, Naomi will lead a lyric writing and poetry workshop. The workshop will include a writing prompt, free write, and writing form – with time for (optional) sharing at the end. Whether you’ve always wanted to try writing songs or have been writing for some time, you’re welcome at the workshop!

This concert is for adults and kids of all ages. The workshop is for adults and teens ages 14+. No registration required. Learn more about Naomi's music here!
