A Great Day in Poetry

Coolidge Corner

Thursday, February 1 at 7:30 PM

Coinciding with the publication of This is the Honey: An Anthology of Contemporary Black Poets, A Great Day in Poetry will feature various contributing poets gathering in select bookstores across the U.S., including New York, Washington, DC, Charleston, SC, Boston, and Los Angeles, reading from their work and paying homage to the legacy, and future, of African-American poetry.

Join us for an evening of poetry featuring This is the Honey contributors Jarita Davis, January O’Neil, & Pamela Taylor. Signed copies of This Is the Honey will be available courtesy of the Brookline Booksmith.

RSVP to let us know you’re coming! An RSVP will be required for entrance to the event. This program is in partnership with the Brookline Booksmith.

TUESDAYS, February 6, 13, & 27 at 7 PM

Want to learn how to play the ukulele, but don’t know where to start? Does playing with a group sound like fun? Join us and the Brookline Music School for this three-session series on the basics of ukulele jamming!

You’ll learn the basics of playing the ukulele, as well as some fun songs to play with your friends! We encourage you to attend all three sessions. No experience required, some ukuleles will be available to use but we encourage you to bring your own. This series is open to adults and teens (ages 13 and older).
