Angora Wool Spinning

WEDNESDAY, November 15 at 7:30 PM

Join Lindsay and her furry friends from Winterberry Homestead for a night of Angora wool spinning! Participants will brush and feed adorable angora rabbits, learn how to spin angora fiber on drop spindles, and take home spindles and fiber to keep on spinning. This program is open to all ages. Limited to 30 participants. No registration required.

Ezekiel’s Wheels Klezmer Concert

Join our friends from Ezekiel’s Wheels Klezmer Band for an evening of klezmer music and Yiddish song! Dancing and singing along are both welcome. This concert is for adults and kids of all ages.

Join us for an author talk with music journalist and Brookline resident Jim Sullivan in celebration of his new books Backstage & Beyond Vol. 1: 45 Years of Classic Rock Chats & Rants and Backstage & Beyond Vol. 2: 45 Years of Modern Rock Chats & Rants. This event will include a Q&A and book signing, and copies of both volumes of Backstage & Beyond will be available for purchase courtesy of Brookline Booksmith.

Native American Pop Culture through Art and Design with Sebastian Ebarb

SATURDAY, November 18 at 10 AM

Skoden: Socal media and the rise of Native American pop culture.

Sometimes we do it for the memes. Join speaker Sebastian Ebarb as we take a dive into Native American humor, art, and design! We’ll see how Native connections are being made through trends and social media and, given they are not a monolith, get a wide view of how Native communities connect.

Tuesday, November 14 at 3 PM - Chefs and sisters Mei and Irene Li - co-founders of Mei Mei and authors of Perfectly Good Food - will discuss ways to cook the food you already have and some of their favorite use-it-up recipes, with a special focus on reducing food waste around the holidays.

New England Desserts Virtual Cook-Along
Tuesday, November 14 at 7 PM - Tammy Donroe Inman, award-winning author of New England Desserts: Classic and Creative Recipes for All Seasons, will demonstrate how to make one of her favorite fall recipes, Cranberry Crumb Bars.

4 x 4 Poetry Reading at Coolidge Corner
Tuesday, November 14 at 7 PM - Brookline poet laureate Jennifer Barber hosts four poets from surrounding towns, each reading four of their original poems.

Saturday, November 18 at 2 PM - This workshop will provide an introduction to working with color in 2D images.

Memoir Writing Workshop: Family & Community Traditions at Brookline Village
Monday, November 20 at 7 PM - Join Dr. Miriam Roslayn Diamond and write a short memoir about a tradition you experienced in your early life.

Teen & Tween Crafternoon: Potato Prints

Spend an afternoon crafting at Putterham! Learn a printmaking technique using potatoes and paint. DIY potato stamps will be composted at the end of the program.
For tweens and teens in grades 5-12. No registration required. While supplies last.

History of Nintendo with One Up Games

Brookline Village Library

THURSDAY, November 16 at 1:30 PM

The History of Nintendo brings a walkable, playable museum to the Brookline Village Library! Players will be able to learn about how Nintendo started and see how the iconic console evolved to where it is today. All Nintendo systems from NES to Switch are available to play throughout the exhibit on old-school CRT TVs. This program is for children ages 8 and up and their families.

Wednesday, November 15 at 6:30 PM - In celebration of National Native American Heritage Month, enrolled Cherokee member, Traci Sorell, will read her book, Contenders, about the first two Native Americans to appear in the World Series!

WEDNESDAY, November 15 at 6:30 PM

In celebration of National Native American Heritage Month, enrolled Cherokee member, Traci Sorell, will read her book, Contenders, about the first two Native Americans to appear in the World Series! The Library will be running this as a hybrid program. You can join the Zoom link at home by registering below, or you can attend in person at the Brookline Village Library. Patrons attending in person will join the Zoom as a group for the author talk and afterwards will enjoy making a baseball-themed craft together! This program is intended for kids ages 5-13 and their families.

Poop Museum

Poop! Everyone and everything poops. In fact, pooping is one of the the most important bodily functions. But why? And what is poop? And does every kind of animal poop the same?
