4 x 4 Poetry Reading

Brookline poet laureate Jennifer Barber hosts four poets from surrounding towns – Valerie Duff, Sarah Kafatou, Gregory Lawless, and Daniel E. Pritchard – each reading four of their original poems. The reading will be followed by a brief Q & A.

  • Valerie Duff’s new collection of poems, Aquamarine (Lily Poetry Review Books), was published in October. Her first book, To the New World (Salmon Poetry, 2010), was shortlisted for the Seamus Heaney First Collection Poetry Prize from Queens University, Belfast.
  • Sarah Kafatou is the author of Pomegranate Years, a memoir. She is also a translator of poetry from classical Greek, Latin, Russian, Italian, German and French.
  • Gregory Lawless is the author of I Thought I Was New Here, Far Away, and Dreamburgh, Pennsylvania. His poems have appeared in such places as PleiadesSalamanderThird
    Coast, Cimarron Review, Sonorra Review, and Cider Press Review.
  • Daniel E. Pritchard is a poet, essayist, and translator, as well as the founding editor of The Critical Flame (criticalflame.org). His writing has appeared in the Lily Poetry Review, Sepia,
    Pangyrus, The Wild Word, and elsewhere.

Accessibility

The Coolidge Corner is located on the ground floor of the Coolidge Corner Library. There are three methods of access: (1) Use the main entrance, which is equipped with a ramp and door openers, followed by the lift in the far east corner of the ground floor. (2) Follow the outdoor ramp around the north side of the building to the ground floor entrance, which is equipped with a door opener, followed by three stairs from the hallway into the room, or (3) follow the outdoor ramp around the north side of the building to the back entrance, which is equipped with a door opener. This venue is equipped with assistive listening transmitters and devices, available upon request.
