Summer Storytimes

child-like rabbit reading a book

This summer, we’re excited to bring back in-person storytimes to help your child(ren) foster a love of reading and bolster their early literacy skills. Our Summer Storytimes will be held outdoors for maximum safety, and in the case of inclement weather, storytimes will be canceled. When attending Library programs, please wear a mask which covers your nose and mouth. Children ages 2 through 11 and unvaccinated teens and adults must wear masks at all times. You may be asked to keep distance between yourself and staff, and social distancing with other patrons is encouraged. Check out our events calendar for more information.

Storytime At Home

This storytime consists of on-demand videos released weekly across a six week session. Geared toward families who want to attend storytime on their own time, Storytime At Home provides you with the tools and tips you need to make your virtual storytime experience even more interactive. Storytime Kits, which include storytime staples such as scarves and noisemakers, will be made available at the beginning of each new session while supplies last. Storytime Kits will remain the same throughout all sessions, so once you have one you’re good to go! You do not need a storytime kit to participate, but you do need to register to gain access to the videos. You can read more about this program and find out how to register on our events calendar.

World Language Storytimes

The Library is pleased to partner with dedicated community members to offer storytimes in multiple languages. All of our world language storytimes are conducted fully in their designated language. Our Taiwanese Storytimewill be on hiatus until September 2021. Our Japanese Storytime occurs monthly on the fourth Monday, at 10:30 AM. And our Mandarin Storytime occurs monthly on the second Thursday of the month, at 3:30 PM. You can read more about these programs and how to register on our events calendar.

Early Literacy Calendars

Every month, we put together a calendar full of ideas and activities to help practice early literacy skills with your little ones. Each week is focused on a different theme and includes suggestions of how to Sing, Talk, Read, Write, and Play together to get your child(ren) ready to read! There is also a weekly book recommendation, which is always available physically and digitally through the Library. Download our upcoming calendars here.

Library To Go Kits

Every month, new Library To Go Kits are made available for kids, tweens, teens, and adults. Craft, build, cook, and de-stress with the help of these unique kits! Find out more about To Go Kits and  how to get them here.
