Ongoing Programs

We are excited to incrementally return to in-person storytimes this spring! We will be requiring masks to be worn by all program participants for indoor children’s programs. All of our storytimes are geared for children ages 0 to 5. Join us for any (or all!) of our storytime programs. Check out our events calendar for more information.

In-Person Storytime

We have in-person storytimes available at all three Library locations. There is a limited capacity, so please stop by the Children’s Room desks at Brookline Village and Coolidge Corner or the Service Desk at Putterham for a storytime ticket. For 10:30 AM storytimes, we begin handing out tickets at 10 AM. The age recommendation for in-person storytimes varies, but is generally for children ages 0 to 5. Read more about this storytime option on our events calendar.

Storytime on Zoom

child-like rabbit reading a book

This storytime runs on Saturdays at 10:30 AM on Zoom. Prepare to be engaged, as this storytime encourages you to sing, laugh, and move with us! This storytime will never be recorded or saved afterward, both for your privacy and publishers’ permissions. Registration is required.  Read more about and register for our weekly Zoom storytime here.

World Language Storytimes

The Library is pleased to partner with dedicated community members to offer storytimes in multiple languages. All of our world language storytimes are conducted fully in their designated language.  The Library currently offers storytimes in Mandarin, Japanese, and Taiwanese. We will gradually be returning to in-person world language storytimes, so read more on our events calendar.

Display Cases

Fill our display cases in both the Children’s and Teen Rooms at Brookline Village with your collections or artwork! LEGO’s, bracelets, rock collections, painted art, and more have all been displayed in our cases over the years. There are two cases for kids and one case plus multiple frames for teens, so there is plenty of room to share your passion. Fill out our Display Case Request Form to get your name and display idea added to our waitlist!

Early Literacy Calendars

Every month, we put together a calendar full of ideas and activities to help practice early literacy skills with your little ones. Each week is focused on a different theme and includes suggestions of how to Sing, Talk, Read, Write, and Play together to get your child(ren) ready to read! There is also a weekly book recommendation, which is always available physically and digitally through the Library.

Library To-Go Kits

Every other month, new Library To-Go Kits are made available for kids, tweens, teens, and adults. Craft, build, cook, and de-stress with the help of these unique kits! Find out more about To-Go Kits and how to get them here.
