Ongoing Programs

Storytimes

Throughout the pandemic, we are offering a variety of virtual storytime programs to help your child(ren) foster a love of reading and bolster their early literacy skills. All of our virtual storytimes are geared for children ages 0-5. Join us for any (or all!) of our virtual storytime programs. Check out our events calendar for more information.

Storytime on Zoom

child-like rabbit reading a book

This storytime runs on Tuesdays and Saturdays at 10:30 AM on Zoom. Prepare to be engaged, as this storytime encourages you to sing, laugh, and move with us! This storytime will never be recorded or saved afterward, both for your privacy and publishers’ permissions. Registration is required.  Read more about and register for our weekly Zoom storytimes here.

Storytime At Home

This storytime consists of on-demand videos released weekly across a six week session. Geared toward families who want to attend storytime on their own time, Storytime At Home provides you with the tools and tips you need to make your virtual storytime experience even more interactive. Storytime Kits, which include storytime staples such as scarves and noisemakers, can be picked up at any Library location. You do not need a storytime kit to participate, but you do need to register to gain access to the videos. You can read more about this program and find out how to register on our events calendar.

World Language Storytimes

The Library is pleased to partner with dedicated community members to offer storytimes in multiple languages. All of our world language storytimes are conducted fully in their designated language. Our Taiwanese Storytime occurs monthly on the second Monday, at 3:30 PM. Our Japanese Storytime occurs monthly on the fourth Monday, at 10:30 AM. And our Mandarin Storytime occurs monthly on the first Thursday of the month, at 3:30 PM. You can read more about these virtual programs and how to register on our events calendar.

Early Literacy Calendars

Every month, we put together a calendar full of ideas and activities to help practice early literacy skills with your little ones. Each week is focused on a different theme and includes suggestions of how to Sing, Talk, Read, Write, and Play together to get your child(ren) ready to read! There is also a weekly book recommendation, which is always available physically and digitally through the Library. Download our upcoming calendars here.
