Pups @ Putterham: Read to a Dog!

boy and small dog on rug with open book

Reading is more fun when you’re reading to a dog! Our specially trained therapy dogs are accompanied by their human handlers, and will sit quietly while you read aloud to them. Bring a favorite book, and relax while you read to a friendly, furry, four-legged friend! For kids grades K-4. Sessions are 15 minutes and registration is required.

September 25: Rafi, with handler Susan Fried
October 2: Goose, with handler Lisa Griffin
October 9: Rafi, with handler Susan Fried

BUDDY

Buddy is a seven-year-old chocolate English Labrador Retriever who enjoys playing with sticks, chasing after tennis balls and swimming. He also loves to have his belly scratched. Buddy was the smallest puppy in his litter of 10, but you would never know it now! Buddy’s therapy dog teammate is Deb, an avid reader.

ENSO

Enso is a young, sweet Goldendoodle who grew up in a house lined with books. He loves a good story from people of all ages, as well as balls, treats and belly rubs. He is happiest when on walks in the neighborhood, will give a high-five if asked nicely, and is the favored subject of a local photographer named Liz Linder (his handler!).

GOOSE

Goose is an utterly lovable and affectionate black English Labrador Retriever who loves hot dogs and his squeaky rubber chicken! His favorite day is his birthday, when he gets treated to a pup cake and a romp around Castle Island.

LOCHLANN

Lochlann is a sweet and gentle Golden Retriever who loves cheese, playing fetch with tennis balls, and making people smile on his visits. Lochlann has his own playing card, so make sure you ask his handler for one!
