The Public Library of Brookline offers a variety of services and resources to support Brookline’s English Language Learners (ELL).

One-on-One Tutoring

The Public Library of Brookline offers a tutoring service for adult ELLs. Students meet with volunteer tutors one hour a week for six months. Interested in receiving this service or volunteering? ESL Conversation Groups

Practice your conversation skills in an informal group setting at one of our weekly Conversation Groups, sponsored by the Friends of the Brookline Library.

ESOL Family Literacy Course

Join us for this 10-week course for families wishing to practice their English together with others. Meets Tuesdays at 12 noon starting September 24. Learn more about this course.

Resource Collection

Dedicated collections of books for English Language Learners are available at all library locations, including language-learning books and text prep for the TOEFL and U.S. Citizenship exams. Just ask a librarian about our Basic Education collection!
