All libraries will be CLOSED on Wednesday, July22nd for PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT DAY.

English Language Learners

English Club

Join this English learning group that meets once every week, in the morning, at the Brookline Village Library (361 Washington Street). For Summer 2026, there are two groups – one for all levels on Wednesday mornings, from 10-11am. Please check in at the Reference Desk to confirm meeting location.

For advanced learners, there is a Read + Talk group that meets on Thursday mornings, from 10:30am-noon in Meeting Room B.

Every week, we propose a topic that participants discuss in small groups. This program is open to adult language learners of all levels.

These programs are drop-in, no need to register, join when you can. New people are always welcome!

If you have any questions, please contact brkenglish@minlib.net.

English One-on-One Tutoring

Beginning in the spring, we will open up applications for one-on-one tutoring for learners.

To express interest: e-mail brkenglish@minlib.net. This does not guarantee a tutor placement. Historically, there has been a much longer waitlist for a tutor, than there are tutors.

If you’re interested in becoming a Brookline tutor, schedule a time to meet with the ELL coordinator, at brkenglish@minlib.net

Please provide some available days of the week and times during regular library hours.
