Friends of the Brookline Public Library
About
The Friends of the Brookline Public Library is a non-profit membership organization, founded in 1981, that provides special resources for The Public Library of Brookline, and enhances and enlivens the experience of Library users. The Friends sponsors educational and cultural programs for adults, teens and children, helps to broaden the horizons of librarians and staff with professional development and conference grants, and partners with other organizations to benefit the community at large.
Book Sale
The Friends conduct an ongoing book sale at all three Brookline libraries, featuring donated items. The sale includes fiction, nonfiction, young adult, and children’s books. At times there may be games and puzzles available.
The selection varies at each branch. Items are priced $2 or $3 (for hardcovers) or less. Occasionally, there will be a shelf of specially priced books available.
