After-School Activities

Pink and purple backpack

If you like variety, then you’ll love our new After-School Activities program! Kids ages 5 to 9 can join us on Wednesdays from 3 to 4 PM in Hunneman Hall for dynamic and engaging activities. Programs include art projects, STEM programs, literacy activities, and more! This page will be updated at the beginning of each month, so be sure to check back to see our new program offerings!

  • October 5: Leaf Monsters.  Turn a fall leaf into a scary monster!
  • October 12: Fractured Fairy Tale Storytime. What if Red Riding Hood, Hansel and Gretel, and Rapunzel’s stories didn’t end how you expected them too? Come listen to Miss Macy read some Fractured Fairy Tales and then write a fractured fairy tale of your own. Tickets are required for this event and will be available at the children’s desk at 3 PM on the day of the program.
  • October 19: Fall Craft. Celebrate fall with an exciting craft.
  • October 26: All About Animal Bones with the BU Zooarchaeology Lab. Fill out your field book as an archaeology expert teaches us bird, mammal, and fish skeletons and answers all your questions about zooarchaeology! Tickets are required for this event and will be available at the children’s desk at 3 PM on the day of the program.

Most programs will be drop-in programs, but occasionally a program may require tickets. If a program requires tickets, it will be advertised on this event listing, on physical materials in the Children’s Room, on social media, and on flyers in the Library.

For the safety of patrons and staff, masks are strongly encouraged for ages 2 and older.

This event is generously sponsored by the Brookline Library Foundation.
