An Afternoon with The Animal Rescue League of Boston

Join us at the Library for a very special afternoon visit with The Animal Rescue League of Boston! President & CEO Dr. Edward Schettino will be sharing an overview of the local non-profit organization along with its history and impacts, then Director of Veterinary Medicine Dr. Nicole Breda and Lead Veterinarian Dr. Markeya Williams will be speaking about the organization’s community and shelter medicine programs. A Q&A session will be offered at the end for a chance to have your questions answered by the team, and you might just get to meet some four-legged friends!

Since 1899, The Animal Rescue League of Boston (ARL) has responded to the needs of animals and the people who care about them. With over 1,000 dedicated volunteers and 100 staff members, the ARL team lends unwavering support to local animals, families, and neighborhoods. They provide veterinary care, adoption, and field services, while also confronting the root causes of animal cruelty and neglect through special police investigation and advocacy aimed at strengthening the laws that protect animals. Today, they increasingly focus on prevention and the impact they can have on more animals; keeping them out of shelters and in the communities where they belong. For more information on ARL, be sure to visit their official website!
