Author Event: Sara Johnson Allen and Namrata Patel
Join local authors Sara Johnson Allen and Namrata Patel as they read from their new novels.
In Patel’s Scent of a Garden, a perfumer in Paris is forced to return to her California roots to find that her grandmother’s aromatic garden has been uprooted and destroyed. In Allen’s Down Here We Come Up, a daughter leaves Boston greenhouses for the eastern North Carolina farms, and rebuilds an agricultural independence with a new kush crop. In both summer releases, a woman follows her senses–and her senses lead her home.
The books will be available to purchase at the event, and the authors will sign copies.
Sara Johnson Allen was raised (mostly) in North Carolina. Her fiction has appeared in PANK Magazine, SmokeLong Quarterly, and Reckon Review.
